Children Musical Instruments
If you're looking for a way to encourage creativity in your kids consider children musical instruments. In many parts of the world an instrument for a child is almost a required part of growing up. In other places growing up with music is thought to be the equivalent of growing up without a soul. Purchasing your children musical instruments, as well as assisting them in learning how to play is one of the more important things you can do as a parent. Of course just purchasing your children musical instruments is enough, there's more commitment to be made then that.
Often parents that purchase their children musical instruments don't go about it the best way. They tend to place far to much pressure on their child to practice and become great at that instrument. This almost makes music out to be a chore rather then an enjoyable learning process. Of course there is the opposite angle where those children musical instruments are allowed to be treated as just another toy. Both of these approaches are obviously not going to work, if you want to be a good parent and introduce your children to musical instruments you need to instill a new type of responsibility. You can compare it to your kid getting his/her first pet. They can have fun with it, but there is a certain about of work and responsibility that goes along with that fun. It really does push your child to grow up and reach a new stage of maturity. If we contrast this idea to children musical instruments we can compare the caring for the pet to the need to practice, and attend lessons for their instrument of choice.
Now of course you can't just get your children musical instruments and presume they'll be playing you tunes in a month. You need to ensure your child is exposed to music in a wide variety. It's always easier for children or adults to be inspired and learn music then to go at it alone. In reality your children won't learn to pay their musical instruments on their own. It's pretty much a given that they should be enrolled in lessons, and encouraged to practice each week. If you provide lessons, and don't put to much pressure on your child I'm confident your kids won't disappoint you, and you'll be enjoying their success with their children musical instruments in no time. |
